Te Waka aims to provide a club which allows everyone in the community to participate in this fun water sport.
Participating in a Come and Try session is a great way to get started.

Dragon boating is a sport that is suitable for all ages and fitness levels to try.
We invite you to experience the fun, excitement and camaraderie that dragon boating has to offer.
Te Waka works with Brisbane City Council to provide free Come & Try dragon boating sessions through the Active Parks program (12 years and older) to members of the public.

Before jumping into the dragon boat we will take you through:
– A safety induction and introduce you to the fundamentals of dragon boating and

– A light warm up to stretch your muscles and body

We provide the life jackets, paddles and the dragon boat. All you need to bring is a water bottle, sunscreen, hat and a change of clothes.  Please ensure appropriate clothing (no jeans) and footwear is worn (ie. thongs, runners – anything that can get wet).

So come along and enjoy!  No experience is necessary

If you cannot wait for the next Come & Try session, you are very welcome to come down and join in on one of our weekend training sessions.
