Queensland State Championships 2010 Results ( 03-05-2011 )

Te Waka's results at the 2010 Queensland State Titles held at Kawana Waters on the Sunshine Coast on 20th & 21st March, are the best in the club's history!

First day of competition, saw our squad compete in Premier Open and Premier Women events over 500 metres. Good heat results saw both teams into the finals that were both highly contested, resulting in Silver medals for both teams!!

Buoyed by the results of the first day, and determined to produce better on the second, two teams, Te Waka Black & Te Waka Gold took on the challenge of 500 metres and 2km distances in the Premier Mixed Division.

This is a fantastic achievement for the club, to field two teams in this division for the very first time at State Titles. Members of both teams trained side by side at each and every training session, spurring each other on to step up to the challenge - and step up they did!!

Te Waka Black won Gold in both events and Te Waka Gold finished 6th in 500 metres and 4th in 2km. Needless to say we have two very proud coaches, who have done a splendid job once again this season.

But it's not over yet....the squad head off on 20th April to the Australian National Championships in Adelaide filled with anticipation and looking forward to being competitive in a bigger arena. Bring it on!!
